Patreon

If your group has a Patreon campaign, connecting it lets the site recognize your supporters — giving them a badge here for what they pay you there. The money stays entirely between you and Patreon; nothing is taken or handled on this site. It's at Manage → Patreon.

Donations are available on some plans. If you don't see the Patreon page, your group's plan doesn't include it.

Connecting your campaign

Connect signs you in to Patreon and asks for access to your campaign and its members. If your account runs more than one campaign, you choose which.

What supporters get

A Patreon tier points at a badge you have already defined. So the order is:

  1. Create the badge at Manage → Badges.
  2. Come back here and point the tier at it.

Anyone supporting at that tier is given the badge, and loses it if they stop. That is different from a badge somebody earned by turning up, which is theirs to keep.

There is also a Contribution badge type, which counts lifetime support against a threshold. That one is earned rather than granted, so it stays even after somebody stops supporting.

Members linking their accounts

A supporter has to link their own Patreon account to their profile here before the site can match them — there's a button for it on their account page, beside the Discord one. Until they do, you'll see the pledge on Patreon and they won't have the badge here.

Telling people about it

The call to action is a link to your campaign, and you choose where it appears: the nav bar, the tabs, or the About page. You write the wording on the button.

Keeping it current

A pledge starting or stopping usually shows up within minutes, and anything missed is picked up within a day.

Refresh re-reads the campaign now and applies what it finds, for when you don't want to wait.

Disconnecting

Disconnect stops the site reading your campaign. Badges granted through tiers go with it; badges members earned themselves stay.
